Welcome to CAD-Templates.com.
I’m Rachid KHOURI, founder of CADAuthority.com, and I created this website to help CAD professionals build better drawing standards, save time, and eliminate repetitive setup work.
CAD-Templates.com is part of the CADAuthority.com network, a growing family of specialized websites dedicated to different areas of CAD. While CADAuthority.com serves as the central hub for CAD resources, downloads, and professional tools, each website focuses on a specific discipline. CAD-Templates.com is entirely dedicated to CAD templates, drawing standards, title block systems, CAD documentation, and productivity resources for technical teams.
There are countless websites that explain CAD commands or software features. Very few focus on something every CAD office depends on: building reliable templates and standardized drawing environments that save time on every project.
Why I Created This Website
I’ve been working with AutoCAD and CAD technologies since 1992, beginning with AutoCAD Release 10.
During my career, I’ve worked as a CAD Manager, software developer, technical trainer, course author, and Autodesk Authorized Developer (ADN).
I’ve developed AutoLISP applications, CAD automation systems, deployment tools, company standards, engineering workflows, drawing templates, and technical documentation for organizations working in architecture, engineering, manufacturing, construction, and design.
One problem appeared everywhere I worked.
Most companies spend hundreds of hours recreating the same drawing setup.
New projects often begin by copying an old drawing, cleaning unnecessary objects, fixing layers, replacing title blocks, updating dimension styles, correcting layouts, and repairing plotting problems.
The result is inconsistent drawings, unnecessary rework, and wasted production time.
A properly designed template solves many of these problems before the first line is drawn.
That’s why I created CAD-Templates.com.
What You’ll Find Here
CAD-Templates.com is built around three main areas.
Practical Guides
The blog focuses on creating and maintaining professional CAD environments.
Topics include:
- CAD template creation
- AutoCAD template setup
- Drawing standards
- Title block design
- Layer organization
- Annotation standards
- Dimension styles
- Plotting workflows
- Drawing quality control
- CAD office documentation
- Project setup
- Workflow optimization
- CAD productivity
- CAD management best practices
Every guide is based on practical production workflows and written to solve real problems encountered by CAD users and CAD managers.
Professional Templates and Productivity Tools
One of the primary goals of this website is to develop professional resources that organizations can deploy immediately.
Future products include:
- Professional CAD templates
- Title block systems
- Company CAD standards
- Layer standards
- Drawing startup files
- CAD checklists
- Documentation templates
- Excel-based management tools
- Project tracking utilities
- CAD workflow toolkits
Rather than starting with an empty drawing or rebuilding standards from previous projects, you’ll be able to deploy ready-to-use resources designed for production environments.
Premium Resources
Alongside the free articles and guides, CAD-Templates.com will publish premium resources for companies and professionals who want complete, production-ready solutions.
These resources will include:
- Professional template collections
- CAD standards manuals
- Office standards packages
- Title block libraries
- CAD Manager toolkits
- Quality control documents
- Project documentation systems
- Workflow implementation guides
- Productivity spreadsheets
- Engineering checklists
Each resource is designed to reduce setup time while improving consistency across teams and projects.
My Philosophy
Good templates should make work easier, not more complicated.
A CAD template should be clean, documented, easy to maintain, and simple enough that every member of the team can use it without additional training.
The same principle applies to every article published on this website.
If I explain a workflow, it should be practical.
If I recommend a standard, it should solve a real production problem.
If I publish a template or tool, it should be something I would confidently use in a professional engineering office.
You’ll never find content written simply to increase page count.
Every guide, template, and resource is created to help CAD professionals work more efficiently.
My Background
I’ve spent more than three decades working with CAD technologies in technical, management, development, and training roles.
My experience includes:
- CAD Manager
- Autodesk Authorized Developer (ADN)
- Software Developer
- Technical Trainer
- Course Author
- CAD Consultant
- Workflow Automation Specialist
In 1999, I founded an Autodesk training center in Canada where I trained professionals in AutoCAD and related technologies.
Later, I developed online CAD training programs that helped students and professionals improve their technical skills at their own pace.
Alongside training, I’ve continued developing AutoLISP applications, CAD automation tools, engineering workflows, productivity software, and standardized documentation systems used in real production environments.
That combination of technical development, CAD management, and hands-on experience forms the foundation of everything published on this website.
Designed for More Than AutoCAD
Although many resources focus on AutoCAD, the principles behind good CAD templates apply to many professional design platforms.
Depending on the topic, you’ll also find information relevant to BricsCAD, DraftSight, ZWCAD, GstarCAD, nanoCAD, and other DWG-based software.
Some articles will also discuss template organization, documentation standards, and workflow management for platforms such as Revit, SolidWorks, and related engineering software.
The objective is not to promote a particular application.
The objective is to help technical teams build better drawing environments.
My Commitment
Every article, template, document, and productivity tool published on CAD-Templates.com follows the same principles:
- Practical before theoretical
- Accuracy before speed
- Quality before quantity
- Real production experience before assumptions
- Tested resources before publication
The goal is not to publish the largest collection of CAD templates.
The goal is to build one of the most trusted resources available for CAD templates, drawing standards, and CAD productivity.
Part of the CADAuthority Network
CAD-Templates.com is one of several specialized websites developed under the CADAuthority.com brand.
Each website focuses on a specific area of the CAD industry, including templates, CAD management, dynamic blocks, AutoLISP development, technical troubleshooting, CAD standards, documentation, and professional productivity tools.
By separating each subject into its own dedicated website, I’m able to publish deeper, more specialized content while building one of the web’s most comprehensive collections of practical CAD resources.
